The "clip" hardware is an assembled part which creates a "hinge". If you open the clip too far back, this "hinge" may disassemble. Don't panic! It is designed to enable you to easily snap it back into its original position. When the clip is closed (on a shoe, handbag, or garment) it will not disassemble, so there is no risk in loosing the ornament.
